Mary J. Deane, M.S., M.F.T.
There are several elements to the process of marriage and family therapy. Positive psychology is the study of maximizing optimal human functioning . . . an emphasis on mental health instead of mental illness. Read more about this on the therapy page.
I focus on:
- Identifying your stressors and drainers
- Going on to create an energized life!
My Process
- With 35+ years of experience in individual and relationship therapy, I have found a solution-focused, goal-oriented approach with an emphasis on *positive psychology. I endeavor to create an atmosphere in which healing and growth can occur for the individual and/or relationship as we progress together toward the client's stated goals.
- In addition, I offer:
1. Workbooks to enrich the therapeutic process between sessions
2. List of helpful literature and printouts
3. Bi-monthly newsletter that add more meaning and skills to clients' lives.
Personally, I believe the therapist needs to be the healthiest model possible for clients . . . and am always working on my own growth goals. I love to visit parks to refresh and reflect.
